CALLIOPE Interoperability Knowledge Sources
Co-ordination of activities related to eHealth interoperability in Europe requires access to and sharing of information and experience. This is also needed as part of the dialogue of experts and stakeholders in the framework of the open consultation process launched by the Commission on the eHealth Interoperability Recommendation. Therefore one of the key deliverables of the project is the dynamic Document DB comprising a well informed resource base for documents relevant to cross border eHealth.
The Document DB holds annotated documents and links that can contribute to feed the debate on cross-border interoperability for eHealth services. Those documents address interoperability on various levels, i.e. political/legal, organisational, semantic or technical level as well as educational aspects.
- The documents come predominantly from cross-border and eHealth interoperability EU projects (like epSOS etc.) in the eHealth and eGov sector, SDO activities, national/regional projects.
- To establish an easy and effective search an automatic full text indexing of all materials is available in addition to categories based search facilities.
- To define a reasonable identification and collection process, guided by an agreed "knowledge governance", i.e. agreed selection criteria and a tagging (meta-information) system (cf. below). This meta-data will be even more valuable than the actual document as it will enable to assure the maintainability and integrity of the document DB.
